A London school recently identified failing boundary walls which were a health and safety risk to the public on their daily commute.
The nation locked down, Optera devised safe systems of work for our dedicated staff, implementing safety measures, including recording staff temperature daily, 2m distancing and increased cleaning regimes.
Implementing a footpath closure, the works area was secured. Starting works 4 weeks ago, we identified more extensive damage. The walls were taken down and the footings grubbed out. New piled ring beams were constructed, and the walls rebuilt, sourcing reclaimed London stock bricks to sympathise with surrounding buildings.
The works were completed on time and budget and ensure the safety of those children returning to school next week.
