Collapsed retaining wall

Collapsed retaining wall

This week our specialist structural repair team have been on-site in Merthyr Tydfil, repairing a retaining wall that collapsed into the highway, blocking a road near to the property.

The wall collapsed (as far as we can ascertain) at the end of November 2018 and was reported in the press.

4 properties are directly affected with 2 insurance companies involved and 2 loss adjusting companies – Optera were appointed as the main contractor following a competitive tendering exercise.

Works are now well underway and we are busy stabilising the collapsed ground before starting to rebuild the retaining wall off a piled foundation.

We also have a number of other skilled teams working throughout the UK this week, on projects such as underpinning, structural lifting, slope stabilisation, retaining structures and site investigations.
